Etch July 2025 Availability

July 28, 2025

Etch is available to purchase again this week, but there are some things you need to know before you purchase a license.

People are practically lining up around the block for Etch, and honestly, we love to see it. So, let’s cut to the chase: how do you get in?

Originally, our target for Etch v1—the ability to build basic brochure sites with Etch—was mid to late September 2025. That was when we planned to start opening the doors. But here’s the thing: we’ve already blown past that milestone. Etch is now capable of far more than just brochure sites, so why wait?

A few weeks back, we announced we’d open access again in July. True to the classic law of software development, though, the moment we set a date something went awry. Two Gutenberg issues threw us off by a couple of weeks.

The good news? Those have been squashed, and the cart officially reopens Wednesday, July 30th. Not quite the day we aimed for, but hey, it’s still July.

Not a Launch—Yet

Let’s be clear: this isn’t the official “launch” of Etch. Yes, we’re ahead of schedule:

  • Etch does way more than we planned.
  • People are already building real sites with it.
  • We’ve rebuilt many of our own sites in Etch.
  • Etch can do things other tools—some over a decade old—simply can’t.

But opening the cart doesn’t mean Etch is v1 or that it’s a hyper-polished, production-ready product. Instead, we’re inviting early adopters to join us on the ground floor, help shape Etch, and be part of its ongoing development.

In fact, we highly recommend you check out these pages before buying:

You should also make sure you’re aligned with Etch’s principles by reading:

If you’re after a slick, finished product, you might want to hold off. But if you’re excited to secure your spot in the future of WordPress and are willing to be patient as we keep building, now’s your chance to grab a license.

Flex Pay LTD: Last Call

August isn’t your last shot at a lifetime deal (LTD), but it is your last chance to snag a Flex Pay LTD. When v1 launches in September, Flex Pay LTDs will be retired in favor of annual subscriptions. Pre-pay LTDs will stick around a bit longer, but Flex Pay LTDs are gone for good when v1 drops.

Ready to get in? The doors open July 30th.

Tell a friend and we’ll see you on the inside.
